It starts at 6:15 p.m. at the downtown branch of Wells Fargo. Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs!

Plenty of high school playoff football hereabouts.

• Montrose (10-1) hosts Heritage at 1 p.m. at the Montrose Community Stadium. Applebee’s will host a free pancake breakfast beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning, thanks to the MHS Football Boosters. The good folks over at Rib City Grill will be offering tailgate meals prior to the game. (Save me a pulled pork sandwich.)

• The defending state 2A champion Olathe Pirates, with the state’s longest winning streak at 25 consecutive victories, will be at Denver Kent Saturday. (I can’t figure this one out: Why does an undefeated team, the defending state champions have to go on the road?) Former Daily Press sports editor Jonathan Maness, who now works for the Denver Nuggets, will cover for the Daily Press.

• Delta (9-2) will host Pueblo Central, the number one playoff seed in Delta, also at 1 p.m. Dennis Anderson will have the particulars.

The Daily Press Stream Team “ aka Phil Ashley, Chris Kennedy, myself ” will be at the MHS Stadium Saturday for a live streaming videocast of the Montrose/Heritage game. Last week, we had almost 1,200 laptops or computers tuned into the MHS game, including viewers from Mozambique, Australia, Denmark, Russia and other exotic locales, maybe even someone from Pea Green. We encourage those attending to come up to the press box at halftime and send a “shout out” to loved ones elsewhere who are watching the game, live. A nice fella came up to me last week and said thanks because his relatives in Arkansas were watching.

Teamwork. It’s great to be associated with a group of news pros who’ll drop everything they’re working on to inform the public. Wednesday morning around 11:30, a small plane crash-landed on N. Park Avenue. The call came in right after our daily news budget meeting. Senior writer Katharhynn Heidelberg and photojournalist Joel Blocker rushed to the scene as did Kati O’Hare and Chris Kennedy for video coverage. Within minutes, we had the crash story and photos posted online. (Video is on our Web site, and we shared with our TV partners in Grand Junction, KKCO-NBC11.)

We had stories, photos, video and a sidebar. Nice hustle, folks, and thanks.

• Saturday, if you’re out and about, drop by the 32nd annual San Juan Weavers Guild at the Holiday Inn Express. Info: 249-2981

• Also Saturday, Bobbi Sale of Olathe Sweet Corn fame, drops a line about how the Christmas Craft Bazaar begnning at 8 a.m. at the Olathe High School gym. Olathe crafters will feature their best work and the Olathe Rebekah Lodge will have their delicious cookies for sale. Info: 323-6006.

Happy Birthday Greetings! To local bon vivant and Good Guy, Lu Anne Tyrrell.
