MONTROSE - It’s back.

After nearly a 30 year absence, the Delta-Montrose Technical College has brought back its welding classes - this time by partnering with Hartman Brothers, Inc.

Welding is a sculptural process that joins metal or thermoplastic materials. Diana Tourney, Community Education Coordinator at the Delta-Montrose Technical College, said now was the perfect time to bring back its welding program.

“We began to get a lot of phone calls with people asking if we offered any welding classes, so getting constant phone calls about it made it obvious there was a demand for it,” Tourney said. “Then we saw the American Welding Society projected in 10 years that there will be a shortage of 200,000 welders. So we felt this was a great time.”
