"It’s time for the City’s Annual Fall Leaf Clean-up!

Residents can fill specially marked leaf bags with fallen leaves and place them curbside for free pickup service by City of Montrose public works crews. No need to call for special pickup. Residents are advised to utilize this free service, and to not rake fallen leaves into street gutters. Crews will pick up leaf bags until mid-December. This free leaf pickup service is available to all City of Montrose utility customers. "

"specially marked leaf bags" what exactly does this mean?

I bagged my leaves in the normal black plastic leaf bags and there they sit at the end of my yard, as do a lot of lonely black plastic leaf bags looking for a new home.  Why do they sit, well it seems you have to use clear plastic yard bags, hmmm, is that what "specially marked leaf bags" is referring too?  I am not sure it is most vague.  Please, City of Montrose, be more consise with the information on your website.......and please come get these leaf bags, I promise I am not hiding trash in those mysterious black plastic bags.

" hold your horses people the city will pick up your bags whatever the color of your bags we have other more pressing matters than your yard work like keeping the streets void of pot holes as you can tell its full time job so be patient and we will get there when we can.
    thank you
p.s its helpfull if you let the leaves dry a bit so the dont weigh 100lbs thanks "

" Sounds like discrimination against black plastic bags...Better call the ACLU.
But seriously, why not keep the green recycle center open longer for Fall cleanup for leaves, branches, sticks, etc. . It closed 2 weekends ago. At least open up on the weekends so the folks can clean up until the snow flies. No major cost to the city, one worker needed. Go "green" Montrose !!!! "

" Just leave the bags at the curb. Sooner or later, the sun will degrade the black plastic enough for the bags to fall apart and leave the leaves to find their way into the gutters. I just secretly burn mine at night, so the smoke isn't so evident. "

" I hope they do come pick up the bags...I called the city after they picked up my neighbors clear bags and was told they wouldn't pick them up if they were in black bags.....so there seems to be some serious lack of communication. It's not the end of the world but frustrating! "
