On Saturday, November 7, an extremely close vote passed a very unpopular health care bill. The political desperation of the members of the House was obvious. Not many were listening to their constituents. This ponderous bill represents an agenda that alarms many citizens. If anything positive can come from it, I would call it a call to political involvement of the average citizen. It surely has stirred me to take interest.
AARP and the AMA are now suspect. What will be their reward for supporting this bill?
I will certainly let my senator know how I feel and suggest that all concerned citizens voice their opinion too.
Government is not empowered to provide insurance to the people. That is not it’s responsibility unless we abdicate our own responsibility to care for ourselves. Big Brother will fill the void.
We will trade-off our individual choice to provide for two percent of our population - a very expensive decision.
