Montrose defeated the Lady Panthers 25-20, 25-23 and 26-24 to improve to 14-4 overall and 6-3 in the Southwestern League. Despite the victory, MHS head coach Shane Forrest was less than impressed with her team’s effort, but was just glad that they got the win.
“Our overall performance was OK tonight,” Forrest said. “But a win is a win and I was glad we got out of there with one.”

“We had a lot of hitting errors and continued to play balls into the net too much and that is not usually typical for us,” she said.
Leading the way for the Lady Indians were seniors Courtney Geesing, who had 15 kills and 16 digs, followed by Kelsie Dardis, who added 12 kills and five blocks. Sophomore Emma Cooling also got into the mix and had a team high 19 digs. Up next for the Lady Indians is a match against Durango today at noon.
