Wayne joined the Air Force and retired after 20 years as a Major, and was a member of the Retired Officers Association. After his military career, Wayne became an educator and taught as a public school teacher and principal as well as some college courses. Wayne was also involved in coaching both at the junior high and senior high school level. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Eleanor; son, Jeff (Sharon) Perkins of Puyallup, Wash.; daughters, Laura Dukes of California, Katherine (Evan) Griffey of Hansville, Wash.; grandchildren, David (Lee), Amy, Joshua, Jessica, Tristan (Jon), Alyssa, Taylor, Clarise and Evan; and great-grandchildren, Shelby and Colton.
