Lady Pirates fall in three to Bulldogs

HOTCHKISS — The Olathe High Lady Pirates battled through three games, but fell short Tuesday night in a loss to the Hotchkiss Bulldogs.

Hotchkiss took the match, 25-23, 28-26, and 25-15, over the Lady Pirates (11-7, Western Slope League 9-6).

Olathe battled to the wire in the first game, and led 23-21 and 24-22 in the second game before losing by two.

“It was frustrating. It was definitely disappointing to get beat in three,” said OHS coach Dan Rosentreter. “We had multiple opportunities to win Game 2.”

Emily Brummitt led OHS with 11 kills while Kylie Tait finished with 9 kills. Tait also led OHS with 22 digs and four aces.

Olathe travels to Gunnison Friday evening for a 5:30 p.m. showdown.
