MONTROSE  —  City council members interviewed five planning commission applicants, choosing three to fill the vacancies during its council meeting last week.

Chosen for the positions were Kristine Manlove Bagnara, Robert Hatcher and Dianna Grace Reuter.

Bagnara has been on the commission since 2003, which she said gives her experience. During that time, the city paid for her land-use training — another benefit, she said.

Hatcher is new to the community. He moved to Montrose from Littleton, Colo. in July of 2007. He said he brings a vast civil engineering background to the commission, having worked on many projects for the Bureau of Reclamation, and drilling and manufacturing companies.

Having retired, Hatcher said he’s ready to be involved in the community.

Reuter has been a first-grade teacher at Cottonwood Elementary School since she moved to Montrose six years ago. Previously, she was a planning clerk for the city of Fountain, Colo. That experience, she said, got her “feet wet.”

She said she’ll bring new ideas and creativity to the commission and wants to be a part of the “betterment of Montrose.”

The three new members will join Judy Wind, Frank Casey, Matt Box and Moira Collier, who currently are serving on the seven-member commission.
