Maria Marta ‘Martha’ Montoya LaRue

MONTROSE — Maria Marta “Martha” Montoya LaRue, age 77, of Montrose, Colo., passed away at her home on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008.

Maria Marta “Martha” Montoya LaRue, daughter of Gregorio and Luptia (Valdez) Montoya, was born March 15, 1931 at Capulin, Colo. At an early age, she moved to Delta with her father and brother, later moving to Olathe where she met her husband. She was married in Grand Junction on Dec. 14, 1950. They lived in Lazear for 25 years, then moved to Montrose where she made her home until her death. 

Martha is survived by five children: Peggy LaRue Chayer, David, Danny, Larry and Wayne and their families; and brother, Fred Montoya.   ?In addition to her husband and parents, Martha was preceded in death by many brothers and sisters. 

She loved and enjoyed her children, grand and great-grandchildren. 

At her request, cremation has taken place and no service will be performed.
