OLATHE  — Frances Mabel Seevers was born at Leonard, Colo. on Sept. 3, 1925 and died Oct. 26, 2007 in Olathe. She was the daughter of Mary and Wilbur Smith. She lived her entire life in southwestern Colorado on Hastings Mesa, in Sawpit, Montrose and Olathe. She was married to Sanford Seevers on Feb. 1, 1947 and had nine children with him. She was a longtime and dedicated school teacher in Telluride, Sawpit and Montrose.

She is survived by her children: Sandra Castle of Cory, Earl Seevers of Cortez, Velda Montgomery of Egnar, Val Chambers of Steamboat Springs, Donald Seevers of Olathe, and Susan Lasley of Montrose. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sanford; sons, Russell and Jimmy; and daughter, Karen. She had 24 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.

Frances was deeply spiritual and loved her time with family. She was a family historian and wrote many short stories about her family and growing up on Hastings Mesa. She will be missed by her large family and many friends, but they are consoled knowing she is at peace with her Savior and loved ones.

Services will be at Victory Baptist Church in Montrose on Friday, Nov. 2, 2007 at 1 p.m. Dessert and refreshments for family and friends will follow the services.  Interment will be at a later date.
